Instead, we’re moving toward infrared heaters with serious waterproof ratings. It’s not just a trend; it’s about how the heat actually works and making sure the thing doesn’t break the moment it hits some steam. The battle against moisture Here’s the thing: standard bathroom heaters are notorious for dying young. Moisture creeps into the housing, the filaments pop, or the wiring shorts out. It’s a mess. That’s why we’re sticking to high IP ratings. It basically means the electrical core is sealed tight, keeping splashes and steam where they belong—outside the wires. And the best part? The heat is instant. Traditional lamps try to warm up all the air in the room, which takes forever. Infrared sends the warmth straight to your skin. You feel it the second you flip the switch. No more shivering while you wait for the room to catch up. The secret is in the glass We use high-purity quartz tubes for the heating elements. Why? Because quartz doesn’t freak out when it goes from cold to hot in a split second. Standard glass would just crack under that kind of thermal shock. Plus, nobody wants to be blinded by a giant orange light while they’re brushing their teeth. We use coated tubes that filter out that harsh glare but keep all the warmth. Your mirror stays clear, and your eyes don’t burn. A few things to watch out for during install These units are great because they usually drop right into old ceiling fixtures. You just wire them into the existing circuit and you’re good to go. But—and this is a big but—check your amperage. These infrared tubes pull a lot of power. If your wiring is too thin or outdated, you’re going to be tripping your breakers all morning. One last tip: watch your height. Infrared heat is directional. If the heater is too low, it feels like a heat lamp at a buffet—too intense in one spot. We usually suggest a ceiling height of at least 2.4 meters.
